"8 of the 11 programs in our review showed weaknesses in their current data collection and reporting systems - caused by limited, unverified, and anonymous data reporting. These systems are neither transparent nor verifiable, and are limited by anonymous reporting and use of third party industry data."

EPA

"Server hardware is no longer the primary cost component of a data center. The purchase price of a new (1U) server has been exceeded by the capital cost of power and cooling infrastructure to support that server, and will soon be exceeded by the lifetime energy costs alone for that server."

Energy Efficiency Certificate (EEC) Development, Monetization, and Retirement
"Neuwing set a new standard for corporate sustainability reporting by creating and retiring the world's first voluntary EEC's on APX's North American Renewables Registry."

An Energy Efficiency Certificate (EEC) is an instrument issued by an authorized body, such as Neuwing, that represents the environmental attributes (CO2, SO2, NOx, and other emissions) derived from reducing electricity use from energy efficiency projects.

Neuwing creates one certificate for each megawatt-hour (MWh) of verified energy savings saved. Each certificate is a unique and traceable commodity that carries a property right over the energy savings and guarantees that the benefit of these savings has not been accounted for elsewhere thus providing an auditable and precise mechanism for companies to report on their sustainability improvements associated with energy efficiency.

EECs may be created from a variety of sources of energy use reduction including: heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC), lighting retrofits, building management systems, data center consolidations and virtualizations, cogeneration.

Neuwing works with clients that are planning to implement or have already implemented building retrofits or any other energy saving project to quantify, register, sell and/or retire EEC's.
